| Welcome |
The name "Bull and Mouth" is a reference to the name of the meetinghouse that the first Quakers established in London in the 1650's, a tavern that Burrough and Howgill transitioned into a worship space that could hold hundreds of Quakers. It was at the Bull and Mouth Meetinghouse that James Naylor became a powerful force in London, coming into contact with Martha Simmons and others. It was the Bull and Mouth Meetinghouse that London police stormed into one sunday morning, beating Quakers and killing several... the event that led Solomon Eccles to march naked through the streets of London with a basket of burning coals on his head. Hello! Welcome to Bull and Mouth Records. We are a music and spirituality collective begun by Jon Watts after his senior year at Guilford College. The "record label" started in late 2006 during Jon's time at Pendle Hill, and has since released 5 projects and been host to many shows and other events exploring the relationship between music and spirituality.
